Looking for this car. Al Bergler's Canopy Dragster. Does anyone know where this is and help us out on locating it? Thanks.
No, but add me to the list of people that hope you find it! Always loved the look of a T body on a rail. Bob
What bergler car was at the lane automotive show two years ago? I missed the show, but some friends went and said there were several "cackle" cars there and they had mentioned the gratiot automotive dragster, hopefully someone will chime in that was there and would know more. If not, you may want to contact lane automotive and see if Doug or any of the guys there know. *EDIT* You may want to try and contact Dave Crane in the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek area, he worked at Martin US131 Dragway for many many years and is quite the drag racing historian. He just may have some info. good luck.
That's the AGGRAVATION III dragster. Al himself and others have been looking for that car for years and offering a cash reward for it. Here's an old HAMB thread about it- http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=224556
Yep, that one is Al Bergler's More Aggravation car... the very first Ridler Award winner, back in 1964.
