To each his own. You like A/C and a radio. I like cruising down the road in my Model A and open exhaust. But then, I also look forward to the trip to and from more than the show itself. I guess it depends on if you view these cars as static displays or a form of transportation.

We are happy to have him down! He's getting rode hard because he ain't driving his hot rod, not because he's from PA. And the Roundup gets people from around the world, so to them PA ain't far, neither. ;)

Last Hoorah, one last comment. As long as your ride is OHV, you can drive the Seguin-Austin route with no trouble. Now I have to get ready for all the flack from the FLATMOTOR boys. They are a sensitive bunch. Oh, boy.

Please tell me I am hallucinating. My buddy is not a bullshitter. Hell, he hardly drinks at all because of driving his rotrods around Austin. So, you have not heard anything on this subject ? I still need to contact El Jefe since he will know about this if anyone does.

  6. Truth is without "trailer queens" there'd be a lot less cars on display and for most of the public attending, most could care less and don't know the difference. A car show of this caliber should include early sixties and older cars and trucks etc and how they arrived should be immaterial. Having said that, I drive my '29 everywhere but wouldn't consider driving it over a couple hundred miles if that. I don't how involved it is to get a spot in there but there is camper, trailer parking across the road from the show and more info will prolly show up on this message board or by contacting the organizers. Thanks for effort to get here and help keeping this the best(albeit) expensive car show from in a line between Minniapolis and Laredo. I don't have a problem with "gold chainers" unless they claim to have built their ride and didn't. See y'all at the roundup.

Show of hands ----- how many of you ragging on Last Hurrah have driven your rod 3200 miles to attend a show? Yeah, I thought so.

It isn't the 3200 miles, it is the 52 miles across town.

How can you claim to drive it everywhere but wouldn't drive over a couple of hundred miles? The longest trip I've done with mine was from home to Sacramento, then from Sacramento to Tampa in 3 days, from Tampa to home. that trip was 8,000 mi

  15. I can understand some guys that have cars that are not comfortable or the have ailments that deter them from driving long distances..

For myself I don't own a trailer and prefer to drive to all the shows we attend.

My most recent trip was 2,251 miles last August. HRP

Way to go HRP, it ain't a car unless you drive it!

I put 7,000 miles on my avatar last summer and loved every minute.

  17. If mine is on a trailer, it's either seriously broke or stolen.

Moby, you make a good argument. For instance, we used 5 days to get from San Antonio to Huntington Beach in our roadster. We are just too freaking old to do it in 2 days. However, we made it, had a blast, and returned via 70 miles on OLD Rte. 66 out of Kingman, AZ. Besides, neither of us gives a shit what anyone thinks. We will do it again soon, and, again, we don't care what other people do.
I'll talk to him today and ask about his eye color. He really is not a jokester.

  20. I saw it 30 years ago on a bare bones Harley Davidson, and Michigan sure as hell ain't one of them...again LOL

I agree if it was Detroit area you were in. You should see the west coast of Mi. unless you don't like trees.
