Congrats on turning 40! I did that 5 years ago, it was kinda weird at first. I still feel like I'm 25

I can relate to having kids (a 2 year old and a 10 month old) and slowing down on the car shows and such. I've got a couple single friends busting my balls about it. Right now I've thrashing on my wagon to make the Hunnert Pile up in Oct. and so my Hot Rodder "license" isn't revoked for lack of participation. Good thing we have the H.A.M.B.

As long as your Jalopy Journal postings don't interfere with the release of Cars 2...

  15. Thanks for your posts....they keep us informed and entertained, all at the same time!

  16. Happy Birthday Jay. Saw you at Pebble Beach and Bonneville, I suppose if you are going to limit the events you attend you may as well pick the cream of the crop. & good for inspiration for major projects ;)

I enjoy reading the posts that you and Ryan post on the TJJ blog. Keep up the good work.

  17. I think LilT would have Jays ass in a sling if it did! The wrath of a 4 year old can be a strong one!

Thanks for the good reads over the last year Jay. The HAMB can get filled with fluff every once in a while but I can always rely on the Jalopy Journal for some thought provoking material.

Congrats on both fronts, Jive-Bomber. You've done a great job with your posts. I look forward to them and I'm never disappointed. Keep up the good work.

Isn't 40 when we're supposed to get that gruesome physical exam? Man, I'm creeping up on 40, I sure hope not! :D

Thanks for the extra efforts and great posts Jay. I definitely enjoy reading them.

And I know what you mean about not having a lot of time with a couple of young kids to focus on. My daughter just turned 1 this past weekend and my son is pushing 4 now. Haven't had much time to do any work on the projects other than cruise the hamb for a couple of years now. But, at least I can do that and can enjoy posts like yours until they get a little older and I can get back into the physical aspects and hopefully apply some things I have picked up along the way in the mean time. And looking forward to having the kids helping as well if they are into it.

Thanks again for the contributions and inspiration. Looking forward to many more. And hope to catch you around again before too long, maybe at Sparky's if nothing else. Is that still happening?

I have a little over 11 years until that physical exam and I can't wait!!!! Just kidding hahaha!!!! Getting close to 30 is weird to me and I can't imagine 40.

But shit Jay, you have a Hot Rod and a custom in the garage, two kids and a cool job. That's living my man.

The first time I read one of Jay's feature articles (I won't even call them posts, they're more than that) I had to look up at the byline because of course you think it's Ryan at first, and you're thinking how the hell does this guy keep content for four or more sites and a whole company going and still go this in depth day in and day out. Then I looked up to see it was Jive Bomber, a regular poster, in the feature spot. And it was good stuff, different than Ryan, but a great addition, another kindred voice that knows what he is talking about and even better, can convey it in a way that keeps you reading on and wanting more. Big shoes to fill filling in for the originator, but you've taken it beyond just guest-hosting and now I look forward to seeing Jive Bomber in the byline as a regular contributing feature writer. Thanks for the sticking with it despite life making other plans for you.

But I am sure you get paid the big money for your efforts. Cause we all know how rich Ryan is getting on this site. That's sarcasm for those unable to read between the lines.

Jay, Man you are old...I did not turn 40 until Sept 6th! Thanks for the wonderful reads over the last year and congrats on the new arrival.

  30. Jive-Bomber Jay's TJJ Blogs are the best! ... that Ryan guy, not so much  :D

Happy belated birthday Jay ... they say 40 is the new 30 ... so just keep doing all the cool (car-related) things you did when you were 30 (but include your wife & kids this time).
