    Hey all,
I'm a relatively new reader of the H.A.M.B., but since I started reading and posting a bit, I'm finding myself quickly addicted to the subject at hand. Since I was 16, I've owned and driven only classics (though they're not particularly hamb-able). Now that I'm out of college and gainfully employed (thank god for that!), I'm quickly getting the itch to get into hot-rodding, especially with pre-60s cars.

Here's my problem. At the moment, I don't have a car to work on, or a place to work on said car. I also am severely lacking in a lot of historical knowledge on the subject (reading the HAMB helps this). I've got plenty of experience building and working on cars thanks to my 3 60s rides and due to the fact that I was a captain on UConn's formulaSAE team, but I'm missing bits and pieces here and there that I want to learn.

I guess when it comes down to it, I'm looking for someone to teach me. If you're a weekend or late-night hotrodder, somewhere near Charlotte NC, and you wouldn't mind sharing your wisdom and workload with me, I'm here to learn. Seriously. Body work, paint, pinstriping, frame bulding, fabrication and modification, I want to learn it all, and in return, I'm offering my help wherever I can provide it.

So, if you or someone you know is within a reasonable drive of Charlotte, NC, let me hear it. The weather's much nicer down here than in CT, and I want to get my hands dirty!

I'll leave you with a picture of me in front of my first car, from my junior year of high school (I'm the dope in the middle):

Well there are a few of us around that always are working on something. I'm in Huntersville and currently working on a '31 Chevy, '35 Ford and driving my '26 T Bucket. We have a shop in Concord where we meet up on Wednesdays to work and shoot the shit. It would probably be a good start to start coming around and just watch and ask questions. I am no old hat and consider myself pretty new but alway could use a hand.

Next week my brother is coming down from NY and he's bringing a really rough '31 Model A truck cab. We are planning on making door skins and such so let me know if you want to hang out and help.
