There are several sources here. Maybe one of them isn't sold out.

You can't say "bent spoke" and "budget" in the same sentence unless the word "breaks" is in between them.

Wow! That looks great! Congratulations! Hopefully they didn’t ask what you plan to do with it and hopefully you didn’t say hotrod. Lol

  17. That is a beauty. You did good. I'd put some insurance on that nice fella real soon. Can't be too cautious these days.

  19. I call that the right place to start building a Hot Rod from. It's a nine and seven eights in my book. The missing one eighth percent is that it don't belong to me. I always say start with the Best you can find, I don't think you could have done any better. Well Done!! Now lets see what you do with it.

Perfect car to make a hot rod out of. It's not a virgin (missing drip rails) so it's no shame in cutting it up. There are a few threads on the HAMB about guys recreating their own drip rails to replace rotten ones. I think early Fords need them, otherwise it looks kinda like a guy with no eyebrows.

  23. To do list:
    1. Chop it.
    2. Drop it.
    3. Stop it.
    4. Hop it.
    Done.

“Pappy” is the name my family came up with for him. Hmmmm..... anyways, Pappy starts really rough and is not happy to continue running. Takes several starts to finally get him to idle. I feel like an orchestra conductor or the man behind the curtain pulling, pushing, and flipping levers up and down trying to get him going. First, it is obvious that I have no clue what I am doing and second I believe that the timing is pretty far off and the carb needs a good cleaning and adjusting.

I did drive him a few blocks before I bought him. I went through all the gears and the clutch seems good. Also drove him around the yard a few times when I got him home giving the family rides. So much fun!

    Quick observations
    - leaking head gasket - really???!!
    - dizzy is making a bit of a rough noise like something is in serious need of lube
    - the fan pulley seems to need bearings or lube
    - not much engine oil and it is black

Digging into setting the timing and changing the oil now.

What is the best way to post videos here so you guys can see and hear what is happening?

So what is that crap looking gunk in the radiator? Is it a good time for me to pop on a higher compression head since I have to replace the head gasket anyway now?

And for the topic that I’m sure will start a small war, which oil should I use?
