I can guarantee that the people who are talking smack about this shop have NEVER been inside a real working custom shop. I think it's pretty obvious that thousands of posts do not directly equate with ability or knowledge. To paraphrase that old saying, it's better to keep quiet and be thought a fool than to make a few thousand posts to remove all doubt. As for the quality of your work- the finished product speaks for itself- although I want to kick you square in the junk for hacking on that fresh Merc!

Jesse- judging by the amount of chops you seem to do, you really should invest in a Portaband portable band saw. You can use them in a lot more areas than you might think, the blades will last WAYYYYY longer than Sawzall blades last, they make a much cleaner and straighter cut, and most importantly they don't shake the dogshit out of your hands when you use them! Seriously, you should go rent one and try it out, they are worth their weight in gold.
And yeah, as others have said- tell those little fuckers to put their glasses on their eyes, not on top of their head, dammit.

The Hudson is boss!! Looks like a guy could sit in a corner of that shop and watch and learn volumes.

Jesse, just wondering if you have started on my old 51? I may be in Cali in 09, so I may stop by. Do I need a gun permit? LOL.

Ok I don't post on here much but I have to say some of the post I have read here are in really bad taste..
Lordz I give you kudos for doinig what you do..I am a young guy and if it wasn't for guys like you out there I would never have the knowledge I have albeit its more about motorcycles for me but the point is still the same.
If half these guys would have a peek into these supposed "pro" shop they would see that all shops use filler.Yeah your shop may not be a steril enviroment as some shops are but fuck that. All the shops I have been in where the guy who runs its know what the hell they are doing is a mess because they are actually working in it..
so keep it up you have got some cool stuff happening..and I am sure the kids you a teaching aprecaite it very much.

I tink the haters need to put away their check books and do some work for themselves..

As someone who's new to the HAMB I want to say thank you for putting yourself out there so us newbies can see what's really going on.

I'm always amazed at people who were never taught the golden rule of survival: keep your mouth shut and your eyes open. If more of us "newbies" adhered to that rule then there wouldn't be so much b.s., and we'd get exposure to more cars and custom work. That's why I came here, to look and learn.

I have a great deal of respect for you, picking up your life and doing something good with it. I hope that other people on here takes up your example and tries to mentor as you are doing.

    Respectfully,
    Rich

  18. Jesse, I've been looking at your posts for as long as you've been on here and have always enjoyed the variety of cars you work on. I'm curious, what is your ride, as I don't think you have ever posted it? Keith

just want more money every week and don't get shit acomplished .I like your work

Just want to say keep it going and flowing. I've been open doing the same since '93, but on a somewhat smaller scale....usually only me here. I've had plenty of helpers, but only a few "employees". As far as these idiot haters that build with the cushion of their wives credit cards.....builders like us need all the haters we can get...they keep our names on the street. It's so fun meeting a potential customer in person that knows you from haters, ahh the stories I could tell. Most of my competition here sold out to insurance work, a day job, or meth.,etc. As for the youth, they turn into customers with a passion for cars later. KUDOS to ya. For the idiot that asked if he needed a gun to come in your shop, I have guns everywhere in my shop, I'm the only "greengo" in a neighborhood of La Migra, and unless you have experienced gang life "post counters" your opinion is based on T.V. b.s...I'm not going to explain the culture ...just continue locking your doors at 8 pm haters, I work alone til 4am ALOT with my shop wide open here. Keep up the work bro.! Good night and sleep tight to the morons that posted.

Wow, if that isn't a testimony of life, I don't know what else might be.

You're definitely one of the "Good Guys", and I hope you'll be able to continue on for many, many years.

    PS...

    Good work too;)
