For those who love the "Tin Indians" the name Steve Ames is very well known as the founder of Ames Performance & long time Pontiac campaigner. Steve fell & hit his head last week, that & complications due to his Alzheimers took his life this morning. Our prayers go out to his family, he will be missed by many in our hobby! RIP Steve. Nice article about Steve in Hemmings a few years back https://www.hemmings.com/stories/article/steve-ames
Steve was always very fair in any dealings I had with him. His parts descriptions were always honest. He was an innovator in the aftermarket Pontiac parts field. Yes, he will be missed. Condolences to his family and many friends. KK

I have known Steve Ames for many years. He was always at the Amherst, New Hampshire flea market, wearing his ragged Levi's, and driving his rusty pickup truck. Steve went with a group of us several years ago, to the Pomona California swap meet, and bought all of the Pontiac parts that he could, and had them shipped back to New Hampshire. Steve was very successful in his Pontiac business before he sold it a few years ago. Even with his fame and fortune, Steve was still a great guy that didn't forget us less fortunate people. I always enjoyed talking with Steve, as he always treated us as equals. I, too, will miss him.
