On January 8th Bob Bowman one of our hot rodding pioneers and a legend in our hobby passed away.
I met Bob back in the early 70's when I moved to Sydney for awhile. He usually turned up at Valla Park run every year.
One of the innovators and also a pioneer in the aftermarket supplies for hot rodder through his company Street Rod Accessories. 417756501_1769545896853089_2393767176107495436_n.jpg 417707406_1769545913519754_8927474268740022500_n.jpg 417755377_1769545960186416_6039687588950485405_n.jpg 417796931_1769545990186413_4964329248984509608_n.jpg 418551182_2738220626331069_1198415287008670571_n.jpg 416321949_3312559605703680_6074800494206640360_n.jpg

I was on the Hunter Hotrod UnNationals organising committee with Bob in 1998 along with a few other local clubs. It was done because the Hotrod Nationals were being held in Western Australia so we organised an UnNationals to held in the Hunter Valley which is on the opposite coast. Bob was a very knowledgeable bloke but very opinionated. He listened to what people said and then rolled his eyes and told you how it would be. Without his input the event wouldn't have happened.
He will be sorely missed by the hotrod fraternity.
