Very sad news. I first met Jim at a V8 Ford convention in Auburn, then later attended his "Spam-o-rama" cruise-ins at his Speedway shop. Last time was at the first Ohio Mile where he introduced Kentucky Bourbon Ale to our crew. (still my favorite beer!) RIP Jim ,and thank you for the great memories.

RIP man.... he was extremely helpful here on ignitions. always remember, 1.5 ohm coil and 1.5 ohm ballast resister and your points will last a very long time....

  5. ...always loved his posts,...R.I.P.

  6. Damn man. He was a producer and not a parasite in this industry/hobby/way of life.

Funny a while back I was looking for a spare distributer for my car. It took me a while to find what I was looking for. Before I found what I was looking for I found a Bubba Distributer that I have not yet used. It is kind of an oddball and one that I cannot finish another project without. I smiled and said (out loud to no one in particular), "Damn I am glad that I found this, its a genuine Bubba."

I'll sure miss reading his posts and knowing that I can call and get whatever I need for whatever off the wall engine build I have in the works.

Good bye buddy, I'll see you on the other side.

  13. The link Petejoe posted above acted kind of glitchy when I tried to play it. This Youtube link may play better for you if you're having problems.

A visit to Bubba's (and the dog's) Garage

    Thanks, Petejoe!

Very sad to hear this. But, I think about how many cars run only because of his advice, or with a distributor he physically put together, and that's a heck of a legacy to leave on hot rodding.

  15. A lot of us will be missing Jim Linder. :( But our ignitions won't be "missing" if we continue to follow his advice.

What a bummer but I think his health had been going down hill the last few years ,I am glad I was able to meet him at the Road Rocket Rumble a few times and had some of his spiked watermelon there.

  23. From Scott Linder, Bubba's son:
    (As posted in Facebook)|
"I can't thank everyone enough who's taken the time to leave kind words, message the family and offer support.
We're not planning on any services or visitations at this time while the family mourns and heals.
We are however planning a celebration of life. We've had a handful of people reach out to host some form of car gathering. Be patient as we decide how and when to proceed. Bubba was loved by many and he deserves a bangar when the time is right.
Much love to you all. [IMG][IMG]"

Can't add much to what's already been said. We've lost some great ones lately, and by all accounts Jim Linder was one of them. He will be missed by many. All the best to his family and friends. :(

Very sad news indeed. May Jim RIP. Came across his posts on the Barn. If it were not for his wealth of info which he shared, there would be no way I could have rebuilt the distributor for my flathead.
