He did some amazing things. I wasn’t close to him or knew him. My few interactions was buying a few things he had listed for sale, and one phone call about a set of small Ford headers he had in the PIF forum. But after the call (just after the “lockdown” began) he preferred I wait to pick them up due to his health issues.
I still recall what he told me when I asked along the lines of “what gave you the idea of using x head on z block”?
Answer was along the lines of “you have to see it, visualize it, then do it”.
Heck of a talent for sure.

I met Rich Fox at Automotive Industrial Supplies, San Jose, 1958. (I was 16, doing an engine for a friend: A 1931 Plymouth P-A four banger)
I had Harry (owner of AIS) do the machine work, and ran into the problem of finding new valve guides.
A nice gent was in the machine shop, said to use Waukesha vale guides, (Air compressor!) Harry could get 'em...
The gent was Rich Fox, who then showed me one of his projects there at Harry's. It was the '32 P-B Plymouth block with the Y head conversion. Rich joked at it being a 'Turnpike Cruiser' head..."Impassable"!
Spent quite a while with me, a true gentleman. I'd see him at Bonneville, always a delight.
    Godspeed, Rich.

Man... just hearing of Rich's passing, now.

God bless him and my sincerest condolences to those who loved him or called him "friend."
