Just when I had given up on Speedvision, last night I saw an advertisement for the Lost Drive-in for this Sat. PM. They're showing Bullitt, but there's always hope some other good B movies like they used to show. I think it's on for 8:00PM?
now that stewart is done, they will get back to real motorsports for a couple months. I foresee alot of supercross/supermoto coverage.
I'm glad they've decided to bring that back. There's alot of cool movies out there they could run.......but what will they choose......?
I sent Speedvision a E-mail back went I noticed they had cancelled Lost Drive-in when Bruce Dern was the host,,,,The reply was that IT didn't fit in with todays interest,,, WHAT? I always looked foward to saturday nights,,,,at the drive-in with some sweet young thing! HRP
Maybe, it's time to be proactive? If you guys like the Lost Drive In, post a link on here and thank them for bringing it back. Maybe they will realize that people did watch it.
Here's my contribution. Now fill it out and tell them what you think. I already did mine. http://www.speedtv.com/feedback/
Thanks for the link, Roothawg. I just sent my feedback, too. Maybe they will listen to a million pissed off HAMBers. OK, maybe a 100. The only thing worth watching on Speedvision any more is Windbag, and as of last night he's on vacation.
Just remember to be polite and not show off your extensive "sailor" vocabulary. They may be a wee bit more receptive to the fact that you are praising them for bringing it back, rather than trashing them for taking it off in the first place.
I sure miss dern on that , never missed it, good to hear it is back and am damn tired of the bubba racin ...........
I also sent the E-mail,,,,,Even in the Heart of NASCAR country,,,we need a little break from the round and round,,,,,, HRP
I saw that commercial ,too. Lost Drive-In is why I lusted after Speedvision ,er Speed Channel for so many years. I finally get it and they shxx it up with NASCAR and reality crap. Maybe they'll put Despane back on every night ,too.
Glad to see it back but, I hope they show some better movies. They would show some crappy seventies movie over and over. Where are the classics? Before American Movie Channel changed their format to modern movies, they had a show on Saturday nights called American Pop. They played great old fifties and sixties movies, hot rod, surf, teenage deliquent, monster movies. Plus there were intermission shorts and trivia.
Roothawg, to answer your question, my wife's uncle went to school with Bruce Dern and he says that the cat was weird as heel even then. Just a strange dude by all accounts. I think Bruce Dern was stoned out of his head during every episode of Lost Drive-In.
Done. Thanks Root. I also asked them to bring back the psycho cop TV spots too. That guy made me laugh.
