***ian Red is a color named for Tiziano Vecellio, c1477–1576, Italian painter. The color is a reddish-gold, like the hair color used in many of the works of ***ian. And it's pronounced "tish-uhn". None of which I had ever heard. So, the fifties Buick people had some strong art influences when they named that color - ***ian Red.[/QUOTE]

Thanks for this.. I have always wondered the origin and proper spelling of this color. Mystery solved.
    Matt.

@Kid Rocker coupe is amazing, loved the video!

Such a beautiful car, and it ended up in the right hands. Outstanding job, Dean. I am in awe.

    *UPDATE*

My good friend Johnny Jean Jacket located Wayne's son, Doug. I spoke with him on the phone and he had some great stories about the car...and will dig out some of the photos of his dad with the coupe! Here is one of them!!

The old photos are sweet! However that one's later than 1957, as there's a 61 Plymouth Valiant wagon in the garage...

    Haha, good catch!!

I know the car was sold to Warren Bookman in 1963 or 64 so this must be early 60s

Got some more photo from Doug Knudsen.

The first batch are taken in Maedel's shop in Toledo, Ohio in the mid 1950's.
