My name is Sam. Got a 52 Buick Special. I'm 52 also. Isn't that special? Always wanted to fix up something. Father bought a 53 Mercury Monterey 2dr hdtp new, gave it to me in 1970. Drove it on and off over the years. City got on rear in 1990 and the idiot(I mean me) sold it for $600. Same guy had the car again 2 years ago, same condition I sold it in, asked me $8600. I said f*** it. Can't get emotional over rusty metal. Bought 52 Buick Special to give it another try, but after looking at the work people on here are doing, I don't know if I should waste my time. Health is failing and I really can't do anything too involved. I basically got the desire less the ability and the funding. Oh yeah, Buick is a four door(insert insult here). I like it though and the whole family can ride. Easy to put grandbaby in car seat. At least that's the plan if I can get it going down the road. Going to do it in satin finish. I know I'll pay for that. I swear it's not meant to be a rat rod. I'll try to post a thread for it shortly, then everybody can rag me if they want. Oh yeah, I live in Mount Airy, NC hometown of Andy Griffith. Hence Mayberry. "Goober says hey"
Hey Goober! Lots of cars painted a satin finish that aint rat rods, so welcome to the h.a.m.b. O.b.t.w., tell Andy and the rest of the folks that we said Hey!
Trucked Up almost always says the right thing. Welcome to the H.A.M.B. from Arkansas City, KS. firstnomad www.angelfire.com/jazz/flatlandstudio
You know what? Starting working on that beauty and you'll see how quick your health turns around. Sometimes you need some p***ion in your life to get the spark going again. Cars can teach you a lot. My 1950 Buick has taught me patience, something I haven't had a lot of most of my life; It has also taught me many things...so break out the tools and get going!
