Im sitting here in front of my computer tonight with a heavy heart. You see, my dear mother passed away this morning, at the nursing home where she had resided for the past 1 ½ years. She just turned 91 years of age last month. My sister and I spent the past week at an around the clock bedside vigil for her. She had been in declining health for a number of years, but despite approaching deaths threshold numerous times, she would recuperate. Sort of like the cat with nine lives, but this time she didnt have the strength to fight it, and lost the battle. Watching a loved one slowly slip away is agonizing, but at least she no longer has to suffer. Thanks for indulging me with this post. The HAMBers are a compassionate group, and I felt the need to share.
