A couple of weeks ago, google presented their new searchable LIFE magazine photo search! A really great service that made you able to search through thousands of LIFE pictures. Yesterday the pulled the trigger again, and presented their new magazine search in google books. So far they have scanned and indexed all Popular Science issues from 1870 - 2000!! Since that is a whole lot of reading, why not collect all the cool stories we find in this thread! Here is the link to the site: http://books.google.com/books?id=ZC...&source=gbs_summary_s&cad=0#all_issues_anchor And here is a neat story I found, featuring the Manta Ray, and a 1951 Oldsmobile customized by Geroge Cerny: http://books.google.com/books?hl=no&output=html&as_brr=1&id=ZCEDAAAAMBAJ&dq=popular+science&jtp=115

I didnt notice until now that alot of the pages are omited, so the links are not what I thought they were. Sorry Shadetree
If you check out the table of contents, you will see what is included and what is not. It looks to me like the indexer was less interested in cars than in wood shop! Still, it is a neat source. I read my old ones entirely at random, and never fail to find something interesting, useful, or bizarre.
