Interesting auction. Many of the cars look like they were "saved from being turned into re-bar". Many have "No transferable paperwork". Over 200 cars, mostly large vehicles (Packard, Cad, Olds) with a couple Nash, Avanti, 54 Ford, etc. A quick scan did not anything that I wanted to build... Bidding seems to start at $100. Location is near Rome, NY - about 2,350 miles from here.
Holy crap, that’s a lot of stuff. Some pretty desirable, but looked like a lot of no vin tags/no titles. Interesting bunch of cars though. Thanks for sharing.
Damn, there is a serious lot of stuff there. Lots of convertibles, lots of pre-war Packards, plus Caribbeans and a shitload of Cadillacs, among others. Shame it's so far away from me, if I were close I'd take a whack at a few of those '41 Cadillacs just for parts. Some really worthwhile projects there too, even though many of them are rough or incomplete. I wonder what the deal was? Looks like they're all inside a building, and fairly orderly, but it does not seem like they were always stored inside. Someone's collection got moved, maybe?
There's several cars that I'm interested in but I'm in OH and can't get up there for the preview. If anyone goes up there, I'd be glad to pay for some detailed photos of a few lots.
Yes - thanks for posting the linc. Took a look and yes lots of Packard's and Caddie's but did notice a few - maybe 6 or so 1954 Ford convertibles along with a glass top - that Valant convert looked pretty good too. It's in "that area" of the country so there are a lot of rusty stuff - one of the Packard ambulances was already bid up pretty good...have fun guys !
I'm in the same boat as RidingMechanic, I'd like a shot at a couple cars, but bidding sight-unseen makes me a bit nervous. I'm also in the Midwest and can't make it to the preview, if anyone is going I'd appreciate just a quick once over of the ones I'm interested in. Thanks in advance.
