Louisville Ky. area members

I own a 37 Chevy coupe that I bought in 1979. The person that I bought it from bought it in Valley Station Kentucky in 1969 from Deary's Automotive Service at 12701 Dixie Highway.
I was wondering if anyone in that area could tell me if it's still there or knew anyone there?
I did a search for an aerial map and it looks like it could be an old gas station
It would be neat to see a picture of the place if the original building is still there.

That's an empty lot now at the corner of Dixie Hwy. and Blevins Gap Rd. The first building is an old station at 12706. I'll check with some coworkers from that area. They will definitely remember that business.

 

I don't know which side of the street 701 is on, but there is a hardware store shown at 701 with nothing on the opposite side of the street. (this from google street view) there is a small garage (looks closed) at 703 next to the hardware store and a working garage at 707 opposite side of the street from the hardware store.

 

I remember the name but would have to ride out there to see what's current. Its only a few miles, may be able to check it out for you. Tim

 

Are you sure it was Dearys? There was a shop on Dixie Hwy called Deasy's Auto Parts. They sponsored several area drag cars, The shop on the corner of Blevins Gap and Dixie Hwy was Gross Marathon who also sponsored several area drag cars too. That's been quite a long time ago...

The bill of sale from when he bought it says Deary's but it could be a misspelling.
The signature looks like Hubert or Herbert Besaw but I think that is the notary signature.

Paint: I think olddrags is right. I was thinking about that this morning. Google old photos of valley station ky and there will be plenty to research. Some of the links have forums where you can ask questions. Tim

 

I swung by there today on my way to E-town. It's still a garage, but it looks like it's seen better days. If you want to call the place and see if they have any info, it's 502-995-8999. Not too far up the road is the Ft. Knox gold vault so I snapped a pic as I drove by for good measure.

So that is where my car came from all those years ago.
The guy that I bought it from was from here and was stationed down there in the Army and thats how he found it. When his duty was over he packed all his stuff into it and flat towed it back to Michigan.It was pretty much a stocker except was painted Marina Blue and had a Blue and White tuck and roll interior.
