  2. No, get it done already and stick with the vinyl.

  3. Just paint it

  1. So, I was thinking its time to weld the top/roof center in soon.
Then this GONG like bell went off in my head.
If you want louvers in the roof you need to do it now.
I was planning on a vinyl covering for an insert look for the roof with louvers in the hood and decklid.

Personally I like no louvers. But that's me. Honestly wouldn't look bad either way

  3. I had an A with w louvered roof once, it looked pretty cool and it was like having the windows down all the time. :D

Now that I am older and wiser I like the look of a roof with an insert but I also like a filled roof. The louvered roof is more of a dry lakes look, the operative word here being dry. My A bone I owned for about 6 months give or take and it was up in Nor Cal where it rained a lot (Redding area). I had no garage so if it was parked in the rain the seats got wet. it wasn't too bad going down the road though, it was a breezy old *****.

I am shooting for don't on this one, but end of the day you just have to know what you are getting into and go from there. ;)

Negative on the roof louvers. Painted or vinyl covered on the roof insert.

I was going to vote but could not as I wanted to vote no. I was thrown off by the No Lovers choice on the vote list.
    I like lovers personally. ;)
So I voted for the insert instead :D
I don't like louvers in a roof however, I think you should stick to the insert look. :)

    No on the louvers.
If ya do louvers, you may have to leave the headers open so you don't here em whistling all the time. Then you always have that rain thing like ****** said.

You live in Ohio. It rains there. Do you want to stay dry? If that matters, then it's NO. If it doesn't then YES. But again, it's your car do what you want.

  13. Awe shoot!
I can't figure out how to edit that either.

Well you know very well the amount of rain we get in Northeast Ohio.
I like the look of louvers on the inset.
BUT... I wouldn't install them unless I had a way to channel the water away. Like a pan underneath with a drain hose running out.

I think roof louvers are cool on other peoples cars. I like to be sealed away from the elements as much as I can in my own cars.

My motto is, "when in doubt, louver it". But for the roof? No.
    And no lovers either.

Go louver something else, not the roof! On less you are taking it to Bonneville, dry lake racing. But I'm on the No-team.

But louvers your hood, or trunk. But no need to do the roof lovers.

@need louvers ? Might be of another opinion. Lol

when my dad built the car back in '57 instead of getting new rubber for the running boards he had the upholsterer make white vinyl covers that snapped over the whole running board. i always liked it and plan on doing the same despite getting the new rubber mats.......that being said.......could you put louvers, not lovers, in the top and then have a vinyl insert snapped over it for inclement weather? ................

Option 5: Make 2 steel inserts, and a channel to install them watertight. One louvered, one with stock type covering. Best of both worlds, and you can interchange them.

Is there any about not putting louvers in a street car roof? [emoji2]

  25. Lol,

Everyday, a roadster with a leaded in decklid sounds better and better.

  26. No fare beating me up from across the pond. :D :D

I have never heard a saying about not louvering a roof. I will ad this if anyone decides to do that ( I would be proud to see it by the way) don't face them forward, they are for letting air out not pulling air in. :D

No louvers in the roof. I voted "just paint it" meaning a plain metal roof with no louvers or vinyl.

That's not a beating, it's a slap on the back of your head, Gibbs style. Lol

And Need louvers ? is it okay to say you are a little bias, but I won't hold it against you. [emoji12]
