I vote yes to louvers. Anyone notice that in the photoshop picture, the louvers at the front are angled and they gradually have less angle until at the back they appear to be parallel with the windshield?
Louvers are like tattoos: they belong in certain places, only certain places and too many is NOT a good thing. Hood and decklid, punch it and enjoy.
There was an old man with a hunch, Had a hood he wanted to punch. But the haters said 'Nay, Keep the louvers away!' Confused the poor fellow a bunch....

Well with 120 louvers in my hood you know I like them but as well as they cool the engine they do let water down on top of the engine every time It rains or snows. That said some folks say it never rains in Henderson NV or Phoenix so that might fly for you. Still I don't think I would louver that pretty hood. I just like it the way it is now too well
After dropping the tikes off for an education, came to a red light, trying to change to a good station, looked up for a green, but a bunch of yellow and louvers was all to be seen. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Louvers are like flames in that some people like em and some don't............I don't ask opinions unless for technical input..............The decision should be based on your personal taste and what you are trying to achieve.........then "to Hell" with what everyone else thinks............
@Feo I just posted this pic in a thread and it gives balance to the fact even without additional louvers things can be all Hotrod as witnessed below...it is to be noted that while hood top louvers are absent there are vintage graphics added that enhance the Hotrod look. This pic is amazing...just amazing. Your using a repop is great for covering both possibilities with minimal fussing. Happy New Year... https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/just-louvers.1028008/page-18#post-12369023 http://www.hotrod.com/articles/wrecking-coupe-didnt-stop-racing-daytona-1956-just-turned-roadster/
I've seen curved louvers before and they are bitchin', and I would like to do a hood top for my coupe and incorporate them... but is ANYBODY doing them??? As I recall, they are longer than the standard ones...
Drive faster... Joking aside you could install an aluminum or otherwise inner panel to channel it away elsewhere. How to attach those maybe some strategic rivets... One other thing is I've seen a number of Hambers just drive right the heck through it hood full of louvers or not and they are probably swimming in the cabin because they're sometimes open. The funny thing is they don't seem to have any problems. So what I am saying is some may get through but it may have negligible effect on things.
The panel of my Tudor has 77 louvers. I’m thinking about sticking something like dynamat on the inside to keep the exhaust fumes from killing my 5yr olds who will be riding in the back. My hope is that it will seal each hole well if applied with some care. I know it not period but it will be hidden by the seat. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
I'm so cool I have louvers in my heater in the junk room. got this at Wal Mart like 16 bucks! made of metal and free louvers for something later the big set of louvers are 3" and there are two pointy ones toward the bottom. smaller ones on the other side. edit: those are toy guns in the background.
