Regarding the bucket seats in my '56, here's a little bit of history & a few pictures. The seats were in my car when I got it in '68. A bit of research concluded they're mid-60s GM midsize low-backs. They had headrests when I got the car but I removed them and they're long gone. Here's some of the progression from about 2 1/2 years ago, getting the car ready for teardown; up to the pics I took yesterday afternoon (9th Sept) showing the mounting brackets. John fab'd the brackets for fitment to the floor for proper height, angle, etc.

Note the seats as installed prior to removal, they had to be repositioned when reinstalled to make room for the console I wanted installed (console is early 60s Falcon/Comet):

Lots of room inside these cars allows comfortable placement & plenty of adjustment for easy access to back seat.

Here's a pic of the same style seats mounted in a '64 Monza. The backs are a bit different but the frames are probably the same as mine. I've also seen these seat in a '65 GTO convertible. Notice that there's no console in the Corvair, obviously much narrower than my Ford. But he GTO I saw with these seats did have a center console (I didn't get a picture of it):

Great information Ron, thanks for posting. The guy I was talking to had 2 sets of these exact seats and I couldnt decide in time, now they are gone. I like them though. I am not ready to do my interior over yet so that gives me time to look for others like you mentioned some 60's ford buckets maybe.

Personally I liked the early full size Ford seats like the Galaxies have . They were pretty comfortable and had plenty of room for the bigger person . Install that console and that would have been a really nice choice too . I also like the high back buckets that came in the 1970 Mustangs but not too sure how they would look in a 55/56 Ford . The low back 65/66 Mustang buckets would also work but were a little short in the back .
These are just my opinions . As long as you are happy with the results , that's all that matters ! Looks good Ron and love the 2 tone look as well !

CT, I answered your pm. didn't realize you don't have the tracks but that pic I posted on this thread awhile back is that Corvair I mentioned, they're the same style seats as mine. I'll try & get the measurements this weekend.
