I got a nice 3rd row seat from a dodge derango I think I can make work . Both tilt forward and with a couple of pins I can make the bottoms come up to access a storage box .

They told me it couldn't be done... So I'll try it.

Please be sure to post a pic of the Dodge seat once you work out the details, sounds like a good choice for your Budget Build

What do I have to do to soften the rear spring a little ? It seems way to stiff. Do I just remove a few leafs from the spring or is there another way.

You are going to want to get the rear of the body made before you make too many decisions about the rear spring. Right now there is no reference for how much weight will be on it to tell you if the ride will be harsh or not. These cars are light, but it will still make a difference.

Did I miss something? Do you already have your ladder bars made and installed? How about a progress photo or three so we can give you better advice. It just seems to me like you're all over the place with your build rather than taking it one step at a time in a logical manner.

Sorry I'm just posting some problems as they arise and some potential problems as I think of them so I know how to handle them when I get to them if needed. No I haven't had time to make my ladder bars yet but do have most of my materials gathered .

I have a new question ... About brakes. I've got a disc drum setup and I have the residual valves . Do I put them shortly after the master cylinder or at each wheel cylinder?

  8. I try to put them as close to the MC as I can. Front valve 2 psi, rear (if drum brakes) 10 psi.

you may want to try that question as as the heading on separate post. Have found that helpful in the past, except for the "why didn't you search....." comments, most were willing to reply with the answers of suggestion where elst to look for information.
you may also need to be more specific on the year of each, like "1959 Impala steering wheel on a 1932 ford column".

Yes I am a little all over the place . I put a lot of thought into all parts of my build and spend a lot more time thinking about it and potential problem solving as its -4 degrees here in upstate ny and no heat in my garage .

Ok next question- should I run all 3/16 brake lines or 1/4" or a combination of the two? I'm running disc front and drum rear with mc under floor . I have an adjustable propotioning block and both residual valves already.

Sorry you have not been able to get some of the questions answered. things are so big here know this just happens sometimes, dont take it personnel

Windshield height is a personnel choice on a build like this.
    what is your primary goal?
if looks, do some searching here or in Goggle pictures,
if functionality, you may need to consider your eye level as sitting and take it up a notch from there.

I'm looking for more function . How far above eye level should it be to keep wind and bugs out of my eyes?

I like the whitewalls! I would also like to see more pictures of the body from many different angles. Including the body structure & floor. How are you going to do the doors? Your going in the right direction 1) get it together 2) get it running 3) drive it & work out the bugs 4) then make it pretty. just don't give up & try to do one small thing everyday so you're moving forward & can see progress

Anytime you think you've gotten bogged down, look at the original pics you posted- you're moving right along. And there's lots of questions to ask when you build a Hot Rod from the ground up with parts from all over the universe! I always find that going to shows and seeing how other people did things helps; asking a million questions, and filtering out the info. that suits your build ( and your taste). As mentioned before, sometimes asking questions on here is time consuming and if you're like me , you want it NOW! You're doing a great job- tires look perfect for a hot rod. Keep up the good work and post LOTS of pics. People are watching!
