Sometimes low production numbers does not mean special :D

I specifically wanted the 1949 B1B truck for the last year of 3spd floor shift & E-brake handle on floor. Along for other reasons.
Of course I bought my truck over the phone & had it delivered. I was surprised to find it was a 3 on the tree with E-brake under the dash.

Turns out Dodge made a few trucks at the end of the year in 1949 for the dealers to put on the show room to advertise all the great new features of the 1950 model. They are identified with a X at the end of the serial number. I have one. No idea how many were made. Just a 1950 truck with a 1949 title :(
    But kinda rare.

Edit: Thinking possibly a 1951 truck 8BA/4spd will cure my need for a floor shift and E-brake on floor :D

This is off the interweb, as I can't find my photos,,,
But imagine a 1937 instead of the 40 front, and a production of only 8, and one is in Southern California being made into a Gasser.
Ok the image is not working, I wiill hunt tonight

My own fav. was a Studebaker Speedster, one year only 1955,an only 2215 built. Was a factory hot rod.
I had a used one given too me,it was left for a few years on some land with out some of the engine parts.
I loved every thing about the car,but never could get tilte/papers for it. Tryed to sell for parts,no luck there ether.
So it sank in a cannel. I bet all the trim is still good,Studebaker used stainless steel.

  6. I had one of the 2760, '56 Safari wagons. Shoulda kept it but 56 is the least pretty of the 55,56 and 57. I had a deal made on a 57 but it fell through.
I have a current 57 Safari project in the works. So far I've only got a tail light lens but hey! It NOS and we all gotta start somewhere. 56safarindrive.jpg dennyshop.jpg 57pontiaclense.jpg

If you were working on the assembly line at the plant it was built in or even worked in the plant it was built in at the time it would have .
modifiying it or building it from scratch at home doesn't count per HRP's original question. Low production number count on factory built vehicles.

My special order 1969 Cutlass S two door hardtop may well have been one of one with the combo it had.
2 door hardtop, Platnum Silver, 310 hp 350R, M21 Muncie 4 speed, 3.42 Posi 12 bolt, AM-FM Multiplex radio and that is the complete list of options Black interior with bench that was a no cost pick. It came with Poverty caps and blackwall skinny tires.
The salesman I had dad order it from had a fit because I didn't want any of the normal add on items. I actually wanted the 2 door post beause it was a couple hundred pounds lighter shipping weight and dad ordered the hardtop. The car beat me to Renton Wa by two days when I was coming home from Nam in December 68. The rare part is just the combination of pieces though. That and the fact that when it rolled off the truck at the dealership it may have been the least frills Olds that dealership ever sold outside of a lost leader car.

As far as rare production car how many have actually seen a 1937/ Screenshot (2309).png Screenshot (2310).png 1938 Chevrolet Coupe pickup that rolled out of the factory that way. I thought all of the coupes with pickup beds were either dealer or home conversions.

Not an extremely low production, but my first year 55 Nomad is # 1195, more interesting is the fact it is a one of the few flipped color combos with Glacier blue over Shoreline beige.

39 ford roadster less than 50 produced in Australia. No windows in the doors. I was going to upload a photo of one I had but it comes back with an error saying it "does not have an allowable extension whatever that means.

Very few 4 door Nomads were made in 1958.
This one was ordered with the 348, and Tri-Power set up, it was part of the towing package that the original owner ordered, when she bought it.
Seen at the CHRR at FAMOSO back in 2016.

    Facel Vega.jpg

    I love it when someone states "It's 1 of only 5416 produced with a 4-speed . . ."

This isn't a one only. But I'd always wanted one. Saw two of them in San Berdoo when I was in high school. I think the DeSoto dealer handled them. This is a Facel Vega. Built (by hand) in Paris (the one in Europe, not the one 40 miles from me in California). They brought about 100 of them to the U.S. every year for about 15 years. This one's a 1959 with a 383 Chrysler in it. With someone's dumb idea of putting Offenhauser valve covers on it. And has a push-button trans. I bought it about 1985 for $7800. This is when I first got it. I straightened out some problems like the one-piece dented rear bumper that went wheel well to wheel well. And helped the brakes, and more. I had it a year, sold it for $8500. Why? Because I thought it needed to be properly restored. You know, full leather interior, English wool carpets and lots more. The wheels are Rouget (wrong, but, you know, the ones that came on Mercedes 300s). I was single dad and pretty low on funds. I surmised I couldn't do it justice. (Besides, I'd wanted one with the 392 Hemi like they'd had for a few years before.)

Saw it was sold at auction a couple years ago. $213,XXX. Looked like it hadn't been touched and was in worse shape than when I owned it. The, later, saw a dealer's ad for only $199,000, saying it was a rare model with factory air -- you know, that stuff was in the trunk. I guess the first shot was auction mania.

Loved having it, maybe shudda kept it. Coulda put in good carpet, high-line vinyl with leather scraps under the seat like a very well-known upholstery friend told me about. Wouldn't have room for it now. My 54 Plymouth is mine. So's my 28 Mercury Torpedo Salon. Now there're two rare cars!

  19. Look at the name of the file you're trying to upload. It might be something like "IMG_0573" or "39Ford 0006" and after that should be something like ".jpg", which is the file type extension. The web needs to know this file extension to properly decode the image file and display it properly. For display here and most everywhere else on the web, Jpeg files (.jpg) are universally acceptable.

The Price Transfer Automobilia Willys section of 35 plus Willys of all years makes it one of the largest if not the largest collection around. There are others being worked on in the restoration shop that also come rolling into the collection, including some very rare ones.

One of the rarest models is the 1940 Willys Woody Station Wagon. It is perfect in every way. It was envied by all those that were looking at the Willys row.

    Hello,

One of the rarest, woody station wagons in existence is the 1940 Willys woody. This treasure is completely stock in appearance, as if it is ready to roll out to the “South 40” on your estate. Texas and OKC, are in the middle of “Trucksville,” but this one could have been part of a large ranch compound back in the 40s-50s. Today, it sits proudly and safe in an automobile museum on the West Coast of the USA. It does run and gets driven occasionally, too.

It would have been the best, cruising down Pacific Coast Highway in So Cal in the 60s. The woody wagon making the long drive from Rincon, near Santa Barbara, down to Windansea in San Diego with a couple of scruffy, teenager surfers out looking for the best waves on the coast. One can dream…

Our longboards would (pun intended) have been a problem as they would have to be stored on one side with the seats way back. Then the rear door would have to be strapped down on top of the boards. If by chance custom bucket seats were in place, then it would have been easier to lean the seat back flat and now, the long boards would be piled on the passenger's side with a minimal rear extension.

But, currently, it sits in the vast So Cal Lion’s Dragstrip Museum complex heading up the best Willys cars/trucks collection in existence. YRMV
