History Low Riders, Zoots Suiters and "Pachucos"

Dingle balls are traditional options in the lifestyle as were swamp coolers and sun visors. Visors can go onto rag tops. Bone stock cars are NOT low riders or bombers as some have posted. A minimum is to have the cars on the ground and have small tires and wheels installed. bombers are about six cylinders with mufflers and back pressure.
Low and slow is the mantra.
Older cars are on the ground with every option known at the time: visors, altimeters, spotlights, everything. Newer cars are focused on the paint and interior.
Either way, the lifestyle is family oriented, and some cars have been in the families for two or three generations.

you will have to discuss that with the Bay Bombs car club. most bombs around here have OG wheels, shiney hubcaps, and wide whites. 13" tru spokes on a 54 and earlier car is rare here. you would see more in SoCal.

In East Elay, where I am originally from, they are known as classics. Just to clarify, the car can be stock and just be lowered and then it's a lowrider. When I lived in Oakland the same applied, but I am substantially older than You. Thats why I wrote the last sentence.
