When it comes to building low, stunning, cars without the need for fancy paint, the Tovar brothers of Southern California take home all the marbles. This is a very close knit family that works together and plays together, and builds great cars. I wouldn't say they fit the "Zoots Suit" crowd, but if they did, they'd look as stunning as their kemps......

Great photos, Anthony !!! I had the good fortune to spend the better part of an afternoon at LARS last month, with Eddie. He is by far the most humble, gentle soul, that I know. I am truly grateful that I can call he and his brothers friends.....

I am 100% certain that the parades of bombs that we have seen and the period clothing being worn at these events was NOT celebrating discrimination. I'm sure they were celebrating history, ethnic pride, cultural heritage and pride for their cars. It looks to me like the name "Pachuco" has been embraced by the culture and now reflects pride as evidenced by car clubs like the Pachucos.

I spoke to that community directly, as I live in it.

I don't need to be certain in my understanding.

    They told me.

And learn from it so you don't repeat it.

  14. Lee was friends with my dad and also from Des Moines. I think that Buick was heavily influential in my dad’s (now my) coupe being painted purple.

Of the TRUE lowriders being built today : are the bagged or do they still do it the traditional way with pumps and cylinders. And what percentage wise. That is a big difference.

  21. Can’t even begin to answer the ratio of bags vs hydros.
But a quick search came up with several suppliers and installers.
I still see hydro set ups in the lowrider forums and publications.
