Maybe one of the tried and true methods would work, I wondered if the cowl corner casting on an A roadster could be: heli-coiled, brazed and re-threaded, plastic steeled, welded and re-tapped, or a nut welded/brazed?
Anyone have success or suggestions here?

Well a Heli-coil has the advantage of only needing to drill and run a tap in and screw in the insert. If the piece is finished in anyway thats the route to go. And that would be how I would do it also.
