I´m planning to lower the rear of my roadster but would like to use factory spring. I´m planning to turn the main leaf and remove every second leaf. How many leafs I should take away and how low I can get the rear end without modifying the frame?

Reversing the spring eyes should give you 1 1/2" and with a 13 leaf spring pack if you pull 7 leaves that's another 1 3/4" for a total of 3 1/4". If you want more than that then you could get the spring flattened but you may need to "C" the frame for that. It's a bit of "trial and error" as it depends on how stiff your spring is now.

There's a lot of past discussions on here if you do a search. Reversing the eyes will help. As far as taking leafs out, you may want to start with two or three and see how it rides.

That´s old trick and car is sitting right height, 3.5" lower than original.

Lathework and welding, no bolt on.

Looks really old style hot rod

On my sedan I just flattened the original spring a bit, and maybe removed two or three leaves. I didn't reverse the main leaf, or do anything to the original rear axle. I've got about 5 inches between the axle and the frame.

If you remove every other leaf you will have no strength in the spring and will bottom out on every bump. Start with removing maybe the second smallest and fourth smallest. And flatten it a bit by hammering the main and the next couple big leaves like shown on many tech threads. If it isn't enough when you put it all together you can remove the main and reverse it, getting one more inch. But you will be almost sitting on the frame at that point.

Been there, done that!-----every other stuff----still heeled over in mountain driving, & entry into roadster.
Best results are to buy the semi eliptical kit & cure the problem----It worked for me!

Just want to add my experience with changing the leafs. Reversing the main was easy. I tried bending the second one up in a hydraulic press and it snapped. I was lucky it didn't damage anything or me when it let loose. They may be tempered differently then the main making them more brittle.

I have OEM spring in my car . I removed leafs and changed the mounting point . Car sits great and does not bottom out , but frame is also Ced.
