I just brought home a 52 mercury. The rear is already lowered, I haven't gotten a chance to figure out exactly how much yet. But my question is on the front.

I read you can't use drop spindles with drum brakes and I am not favoring cutting the springs. Also heard a mention of using ford Aerostar springs? Any insight on the most cost effective way to lower the front is appriciated.

you get what you pay for... drop spindles are great, but cost the most, but yes you can use them with the stock brakes... aerostar springs are popular now, my brother got them in his shoebox... and had a 53 merc where I cut the coils which was fine 2....my 53 ford now has lowering blocks in the lower control arms and the cars does ride super nice, but it isnt crazy low either
