Lowering a 53 buick

    I have a 53 Buick special Rivera, I'm wondering how you guys have lowered these in the back with the tapered coil springs. I wanted to just cut them but because they taper this will be a problem.

    i just went to the junk yard & started measuring tapered springs like mid '80's malibu things like that

    '79 El Camino Rears will give you a 4" drop. They're cheap @ Napa. Cut the top pigtail off will give you a 6"drop and the weight of the car will hold them on...

    He said 4". Or you may order a pair from Eaton Spring w/ your own spring rate custom wound. Shorter coil/shorter shock too.
