I want to do a mild drop on a 64 F100 (straight axle) with a flareside bed.

On the rear Im planning on flipping the front spring hangers for a 4-5in drop.

On the front Im leaning toward a mono drop spring for a 3in drop.

I have a steep driveway and that's as low as I can go. This is a DD.

What size wheels and tires do I run?

The PO put 15x8 wheels with 255/70R15s on all for corners. Those will not fit with the drop so I need to be sure what Im buying and do the drop and wheel/tire swap at the same time.

This is my first straight axle truck and I have no idea what wheel/tire setup works with a drop.

Do some research first. A lot of pros and cons on mono leafs. Check Sids Drop Axles. Nothing but good feedback about him and his work.

I did research lowering the front. What I don't like about the drop axles is that none of the R&P kits will work with them, that's a mod I plan in the near future. Im also looking at a set of 16x6 rims with 215/85R16 tires. At 30.5 inches tall they will help fill up the big rear wheel wells. I may end up just dropping the rear 2in and leaving it at that.
