I'm looking to drop the rear of my 54 about an inch and a half but can't seem to locate any blocks that are the right width. Does anybody make these or should I just run down to the machine shop? Thanks for your help.
They're out there. They are narrower than the "universal" lowering blocks and the centering pin is offset to keep the rear end in the stock location.
Just go and get you some 2x4 metal tubing and just cut a half moon the depth you want to drop it and weld them to your rear end...... Done deal.....
They may be out there but I haven't had any luck locating some. Hopefully someone will chime in with a dealer or website.
Weld lowering blocks on a Chevy? Never heard that one before. Chev's of the 40's has these: http://www.chevsofthe40s.com/dept/C...ension_Lowering_Kits_Rebuild_Kits_Shocks.html (down toward the bottom of the page)
