Some of you have said you used coils out of a S-10 to lower your 54 Chevys. Was the coil a drop in or did you have to make other mods? It was also stated to cut one coil out to drop the car down. I found some lowering springs (1-3 inches) for a S-10 and they are around $38.00 ea. I was hoping to use these. Sound good?

  2. Not sure about the S-10 idea. I ordered a set of 3" dropped coils from Butch's (I think- it's been a couple years). The price wasn't too bad, and there made for THAT car.

i have some S-10 drop springs in my garage i could measure for you but i'm pretty sure they will not fit in a 54. those springs are too wide. the springs for the older 53 or 54 cars have skinny springs. i took mine out of my 53 and cut off 1 and a half coils which gave it around a 2 in drop.
