That Schaeffer guy, he goes talkin up that Laconia show... I'm afraid he is spot on! The first car heading up the turnpike as I got on at 10am, sure looked like Lowery's old man, driving the sweetest sounding 276" flatheaded 31 Ford hiboy. It was heading for Lowery's open house in Tilton, NH. Damn Len, you know it's hard to stay on the road when every second car is pulling your libido off course, and spinning you out, into the infield! Looking forward to Saturday at Gunstock. Lots of eye candy for everybody.
Went by Jim Srs onthe way home from work. Therewas a 40ish truck with atrailer and a sprint car on it. Maybe headed to the weirs.
The son, Lowery has been building cars in Tilton for some time. Today's open house was a showplace. Lots of groups drove in, Ontario, Canada had two beautiful customs. Maine had a group, Vermont as well. The parking lot was alive with great stuff, then you went around to see Lowery's display of cars. Fantastic work being done there.
I wish I knew about it .A friend at the Amherst swap meet just told me there was a real sweet 36 kustom there, anyone got pics?
I haven't turned any up yet, in searching at least. The car that came from Ontario, a black roadster, with sweeping lines was breathtaking. Perhaps a '36, but not like any car I've seen. Easily a roadster show winner quality to the custom body work, esp the lines.
There was NO swap meet...bummer...just the show. Will post pics later. Lowery's cars, a couple others, and the two cars from Ontario were the highlights. Cris
Here are some pics of the show- I think this is the car you mean... Bummer about the swap meet area- I guess no one decided to DO the swap meet- they had the space available and no one took any spaces. The event was great- dont miss it next year. Might post more later- gotta get ready for work. Some of One Arm Bandit's work hot off the press...
That gorgeous 36 "Time Bomb" sure gets around. At least it looks like the one from the Detroit coverage and a few other places too!
