Thanks! Remember when Loco64 went head to head with Las Vegas for Lowrider of the year? That was DRAMA. 1995 or 96 I think, cant remember. I was in highschool and it was big news. Lots of rumors about what happened at the show. People choosing sides. It's funny. You talk to people nowdays, 15 years after the fact, and it's still a touchy subject. Viva Loco64! But I can't talk shit on Las Vegas. That fucker was badass too.
Hahaha! too funny. I remember being there with the group. Lifestyle and Imperials "didn't see eye to eye" to put it calmly. And being from NorCal didn't help. I remember the drama that Be Real of Cypress hill was giving the magazine. As Kid Frost(wow-NOT HAMB relatated at all!) hung out with us, he was asked why he was socializing with the "farm boys" from Salinas. Crazy shit. Las Vegas was a nice ride. There were so many of them at every show. I remember vividly Rod Powell telling my dad and I that we haven't seen showmanship at carshows till we've attended a Lowrider show. Nothing but glam, loud music, loads of kandy paint/graphics, and half nekkid women. He was right, there was nothing like it. It was like a party.....hell, it WAS a party. But that's for another thread. Here's an OLD pic of Loco '64 before it's second change. Street Life CC of Salinas.
STREETLIFE! That's the club I remember growing up... There were 2 Streetlife cars on my block.. and glasshouse and a homeboy with a 80's cougar painted & striped by Alan Signs... Post those pics of Loco and more of Closter Park if you got em! Thanks for the compliments! -Juan
Wow Jesus, all of a sudden i was in LA again. I could spot myself, my dad, and brother there wearing the "Loco 64" shirt. The cat that's walking along the 64 is John Ponce of Low Conspiracy, and the cat getting interviewed is Ruben Cadena of Street Life/Imperials. He owns Wicked 64. Damn, the memeories. "If this was a fight, it would be a split decision" Al Lopez I love that he drove that car out to prove that he and all the other contenders aside from Las Vegas could start, drive and stop under their own power. which is a hefty rule.
That video is nuts! If it happened today, I bet there would be a huge brawl. While we're on the subject of historically significant, badass oldschool lowriders from Norcal... and...
i remember in high school i had like 30 pictures of Loco 64 in my room on the wall.. bought a bunch of LRMs to cut up .. that car haunted my dreams.. damn its amazing

i remeber that drama i was there. i think they got vegas to run and move like 6 inches on its own and that qualified him to run for lowrider of the year. loco could of ran circle around vegas.
I should be working.. but I'm going to post a couple more.. Japanese <img src=http://tanetane92.web.infoseek.co.jp/IMG_82311.jpg> <img src=http://tanetane92.web.infoseek.co.jp/024131.jpg> -Juan Miguel... see ya tomorrow at J&V's?

I have this one too and a close up of the rear quarter but i'd love some other ones, maybe cleaner too! on a side not, these are the Cragars and tires i bought from Nads here, that are gonna go on my "OG" project.....had to show'em im sooo happy!
Here's some awesome videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HO6w99FlgjQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUJTDLdu6q4
Loco 64 in my opinion was the best Lowrider ever. Las Vegas was a joke, didn't they take longer that the time allowed to get that sucker to move 6 inches? When Loco 64 was driving out of the arena it gave me goose bumps, man what a sight... I still have the VHS tape...
Do the Japanese get it or what!? <img src=http://cholos.xxxxxxxx.jp/forsale65pontiac1gpbig.jpg> <img src=http://cholos.xxxxxxxx.jp/forsale65pontiac4gpbig.jpg> <img src=http://cholos.xxxxxxxx.jp/DSC00620.jpg> <img src=http://cholos.xxxxxxxx.jp/famouscarthumb_1.JPG> Cholos Customs -Juan
I have been keeping an eye on this thread and more and more I am considering my 64. I have been trying to sell it and this is making me want to keep her. Its a Ford so it doesnt get the same respect as the Impala. I think that is what I like most about it. Not many Fords out there in comparison. Some call it a custom, some call it a lowrider. I call it mine. Here's a few shots
