I know the the mentioned weekend has passed and this thread is old. But I know a few things around Lubbock a person could do if traveling there.
Hills hot rods is an impressive place but nothing traditional or hot rod related there at all. Go see Humberto at Vulcan specialties he has some cool stuff going on. Check out some stuff at speaker city on 34 th and university. A few hidden hod rod projects there. There's rust Inc. Car club there. Thursday nights at sonic on frank ford and 50 th they have a cruise in. Then there's merlons street rods with a few interesting things rotting away outside. Bens muffler shop is building " rat " rods and sells them on craigslist. Pink flamingo tattoo shop owner drives a model a coupe everyday and has a few interesting things. There's actually a lot of hot rod stuff there. More than I have mentioned. I will say that area is the most populated with early iron in backyards and sheds than I have ever seen. It's not a bad place if you ask me

  3. I've heard it's so flat out there, that on a clear day, you can see...the back of your head.
