hello all. I'm Lucky. Thought I'd introduce myself, have a new screen name, and I never introduced myself with the old name, so here goes. I'm an east coast hotrodder, have been since I was a little kid. I used to repair any and all engines with my grandfather. This doesn't mean I know what I'm talking about, quite the opposite. I have absolutely no clue what I'm talking about, but if an engine is broke, I can fix it. I can't always what the problem is, but I can fix it 90% of the time. It's weird. It's something my grandfather passed onto me, either genetically, or just by raising me. He was an old car guy, his favorite car he ever owned was a 1951 Ford, 4dr, black. He was also a steel worker and machinist. He only had a 4th grade education, but when it came to fixing things, he could fix damn near anything you put in front of him. Didn't matter if he never worked on it before, in a few hours, it was good as new. This is something he passed onto me. I've fixed 2-stroke engines, lawnmowers, and both modern and old cars without ever having touched that type of engine before. I can remember one time when I was a child that I lifted the engine out of an early 80's Pontiac Bonneville with a wooden baseball bat, so that my grandfather could replace the engine mounts. But I digress. As far as my own car interests go, I have only owned any type of car for about 2 years now. My first car was a 1966 Ford Fairlane, known as the RatMobile. It had green scallops, and was covered with Rat Fink ephemera. It made its way around the east coast shows and dirt tracks for almost two years, including an appearance on the cover of the Philadelphia Daily News, before being stolen last month. My current projects are a 1966 Rambler American that is going to be my daily driver, so I'm keeping the 199, and am making it a rolling tribute to Dean Moon, or more appropriately, Mooneyes. It will be a mild custom when I am done with it. In my personal life I am a photographer, with my BFA in Photography, and a sideshow performer. I have and will continue to be appearing at bars and car shows in and around the Phildelphia/NY area. I am known as Lucky the Painproof Man. I am a Human Blockhead, Human Pincushion, Human Ostrich, I do fire manipulation, Trial by Fire, and Glass Manipulation. It is certainly worth seeing, and if you ask me at any time, I almost always have something on me to entertain. If not, just hand me a cigarette. -Lucky
My current project is also, Rambler American (1967). I bought the car for $250 and drove it in the Big Apple in the Big Easy Rally (www.baberally.com). Every repair or modification was done on the road, like the cherrybomb muffler we put on in a parts store parking lot, to the indian blanket interior that was done with blankets purchased on a real indian reservation. Great memories. I drive it every day, and it is amazing the looks I get. Good luck!
Attention everyone!!! Stay away from this guy or you may end up on fire..or punched in the nuts..or both. He is a greasy, wooly mammoth. He hangs out with garden gnomes. Be afraid..be VERY afraid. Spike
