Helium will also permeates quicker as I believe the molecule is smaller, We always recommend all Stainless Steel hose (inner-core is annular 304 or 316L) that way no permeation, Rubber does permeate silicone is much more so as even Teflon (PTFE) will permeate Nitrogen also just at a slower rate. They Typically transport "nitrogen" low pressure as a liquid, low temperature -280-320 F not exactly sure, Helium is usually a gas (high pressure) that's why the tankers have multi small diameter HP pipes (10-12 per trailer )
I live in a small town in the hills. I take my truck to the tire shop I've been using for decades (family owned). I tell him what I want and he does it. I pay the bill and everyone's happy. Easy as that. As far as torque, I started using a 4 way lug wrench to tighten lug nuts in about 1956. Been doin it that way ever since. Never had a problem. We don't need no steenkin torque wrench.
we loaded it by pressure and Cu ft off a meter , IRRC for a full jumbo tube trailer 11 tubes 22"x 37' long ( 156,000cf ) was 1800 lb, the trailer alone weighed # 60,ooo empty . vs the cryogens which we transport 48K ( around 5600 gallons ) worth of liquid near -450 F or 4 kelvin .
The tire shop I buy from always runs up the lug nuts with an air gun. They then use a torque wrench to verify they 'over torqued' them with the air gun.
Was watching the kid at Discount Tire here in Town torque the lug nuts on my 60 Chevy SD...walked away to the restroom just as he was finishing the rear and watch him snap off a lug stud on the axle... sat there dumb founded to what he did wrong... asked him what he was torqueing the lugs to.. 90 foot Pounds sir... 75 I told was just fine .. I looked at the lug washed they had ruined all the way around... they couldn't even fix the broken stud at the store...sent me to repair shop to have it fixed on there time( getting a replacement wheel stud different rant lol)
