Instead of a tub you could make a tonneau cover for the back, like the early 60's T-bird "roadsters". [IMG]

Hey....on your Lunar Lander.....how 'bout going completely nuts-oid and cutting the old 59 Olds top [a flat top from a 4 door hardtop] down enough to slide into the trunk for a retractable hardtop? No? I thought not. I haven't taken my medications yet today.

Hey Aaron, LL is really getting my juices flowing. I was wondering how much room will be in the back after your kick-up will there be room to make it a tub?? .. She looks wild & cool..

Aaron, you are certainly a do-er and not just a talker about the project your someday going to do. My hats off to you for vision and self taught skills. Can't wait to see the LL completed.

John, talking about your "juices" is getting me hot.

Ryan, while the Pope and I are pretty tight, I doubt I'll be giving him a ride anytime soon. Maybe I will put a trailer hitch on there and drag him behind in his wheelchair like a waterskier. Father Guido Sarducci can be my co-pilot.

I too have seen this top secret project of Kustombuilders. I concur that he needs to get on it.

Nads, simmer, those are just mock up wheels. They actually may go on the Tommi Gunn.

I will probably go with some astro supremes if I can find a place to get some cheap. They have a reversed version that only has 2 inches of backspace. I need this so I can keep the wheels from rubbing the body.

I agree that the trunk lid should be shortened, but not eliminated. That's an integral element to the design, IMO. Even if it is only able to enclose the gas tank.

The blue on the terraplane is actually a GM color that they use on the new SUV's. I think it is Sapphire blue.

  13. I think ployboy should just listen to the little voice in his head and go with what he's got, it seems to have worked for him before. Looks good!

I agree. But....I also think if Plowboy is anything like me....he enjoys people giving their .02....NO matter how stupid the idea.

Fact is: None of us are standing there and looking at what can or can not be done in person. Plowboy is.

I remember everyone telling him to CHOP the SPACETRUCK....(It ain't chopped and its perfect) [IMG]

I KNOW It will look great however Plowboy does it. He knows it too. I just like to give out worthless opinions.

After seeing that Bass redering again, a tub-job is out-the slope in the rear deck area would be enhanced for the worse.

Aplomb is far too sophisticated a word to be used by a guy called Rockabilly Tim.

I am not exactly sure what Aplomb means, but by using context clues, I gather it means "to spare" so I guess that is good. [IMG]

Yes those that draw renderings are granted a few luxuries that I am not. Unfortunately I have to obey all of the laws of time and space and cannot make metal just disappear or stretch at a whim, and I cannot come up with some wheels that are just the right size.

Y'all do not realize how little room there will be in this thing, yet I can not find a rear end wide enough with a centered pinion to fit it without the tires rubbing the body!

As for the passenger area, I am going to have to move the back of the "cab" back just so you can kind of sit in it comfortably. This thing will be barely big enough for 2 let alone 4. Think along the lines of a T-bucket. That is how big this is. Those are 14 inch wheels in the picture.

Early to mid '70's Impala/GM are wide and centered.

This is what I found Aplomb to be:

    aplomb

n : great coolness and composure under strain; "keep your cool" [syn: assuredness, cool, poise, sang-froid]

Humm..... It's f#@ken cool [IMG] Wow I didn't know she's that small Aaron.. What's the width on her and the rearend??

What is the rear wheel track of the axle currently under the LL? Lots of the late 60-mid 70 big cars and trucks had pretty wide rear ends, just don't remember about being centered. Gene
