Well I got the lander back together, so I thought I'd throw some pics out for those not going to the pileup.

Yngrodder, Frizby and Russ helped me get body on the chassis the other night.

Somewhere I fucked up and didn't allow enough room for the radiator to clear the water pump. I did some sawing and grinding and got it in there.....barely. I don't really know why it matters that I got it in because it won't be running for a few weeks anyway.

Frizby has been my bolt tightening bitch. I'll put something on the car and tell him to snug it up as I move on to something else.

The bodywork is all roughed in. It will need a little more finesse before paint. The dash still isn't finished out either.

I opted for the guide lights. If you see it in person it will all make sense. Quads would have created a big square mess on the front of the car, and I didn't want that. They are shaped exactly the same as the peak on the grille so it looks really good from the side and back too, which is something that quads do not allow.

There is a shitload of other bullshit to tidy up tonight.

  3. Wowzers! That is one incredible piece of work you got there Plowboy. I'm looking forward to seeing it at the Pileup. There's gonna be so much cool shit there I'll probably go into seizures from the overload.

  7. To be honest, in bare metal I wasn't feelin' it. Guess I couldn't see it.

But now.... man this thing rocks!! I love it. With a good mix of chrome and paint, you've knocked a home run with this one.

    Awesome.

Great looking dash and interior layout.
    Yep, A work of art..
The headlights look good with the grille but when you take into account the customization from there back..I still think headlights molded into the grille will complete the painting. But then again ...I'm a right brained Klutz.
    Hell of a job.

We are going up Friday afternoon. Leaving around 5 or so. My buddy is hauling the lander up (the same dude who hauled the spacetruck 2 years ago, ha ha ha) and Frizby or I will be driving the spacetruck up too.

Getting to see the Space Truck in person was one of the highlights of the drags this year. You are bringing the Lander next time, right? Great work and vision. You don't just think "outside the box". Your outside the box, across the street, down the block, around the corner, caught a bus to Florida, hitched a ride on the shuttle, blasted off and buzzin' around somewhere in outer space. Absotivly Posolutly Amazing!!!

Did you get something cut for your windshield or are you still debating what to use? It looks like Russ is still an artist with the mud! I ran into him the other night at the new pub in Monticello. He said he had been slinging it like a mad man.

Leaps and bounds above anything I've seen in a long long time. I wish I had vision like that!

I hate to even suggest even the slightest thing bad, since I am so impressed with every detail, but just thought I'd mention it.......the headers.........not sure about those.......love everything else - everything.

Bitchen Aaron, really bitchen! The way everything flows from the cockpit opening through the console and up to the dash rules.

Actually the whole thing was skim coated and blocked out in about 24 hours working/drinking time. There ain't a whole lot of mud on there at all. The trash can was full though. 3 days of work, and one night.
