After all the time I've read the boards here I'm finally breaking down and introducing myself. I know it comes as a shock but I'm a gearhead. Born and raised on it. Proudly doing the same with my kids. My wife and I are always looking to meet friends in MD and surrounding areas. If you're in need of a motor/trans or frame work let me know. If I don't have what you need I can find or build it for you.

Welcome from Southern Maryland. Are you related to Tommy Grimes ('32 Ford Coupe) or the Grimes brothers who used to live in Lanham, Md. ? Anyway, good to have you on board. Enjoy the HAMB experience......Don.

Not related to brothers from Lanham. My part of the family is from DC and now VA. Look up French Grimes Race Systems sometime. Thats my uncle and gives you part of the idea where iron got in my blood from.

Wow, I just read up about your uncle (French Grimes). Sounds like a fascinating and very talented guy. Don't know how I had missed out on hearing about him before now. I'm sure in the racing community he is well known and highly respected for his accomplishments.....Welcome once again.....Don.

I'm the black sheep since I'm the token drag racer but I was lucky to have a mother pushing me into hotrods and bikes. Kept me "for the most part" out of trouble. I figure if I keep it in the family my little ones will look back on it the way I did.

Sounds like a pretty cool lady, your Mom. Most moms seem to try to steer their sons away from hot rods and bikes. I like that "for the most part" out of trouble line.
