I have a set on my '30 roadster I bought from a HAMB member 4-5 months ago. They were "brand new " . I have been to a few shows w/ them on and never cease to get comments on them!
I love 50s JC whitney stuff and the hunt... I am saving for a set of vikings for my 57 turnpike cruiser that I plan to get next summer....
This cap was produced by Lyon. I know this style cap was used on 1956 Hudson's but don't recognize the emblem.... Any info?
Dont know much about them but I've been gathering a few up lately. I got a pair of these and a couple of the fake wire ones the other day. And a set of these wires, but they are Cal Nevar. The center eblem is different on these though.
I have some 16" lyon caps up for sale ( like the ones on my 53 Chevy) and three ruff 16"'s I posted in the classifieds.. PM me if y'all are interested in buy them...check out my photo album for more pic's... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/album.php?albumid=15139
I've purchased 4 of them, 2 have come in so far, have dark paint not red though I prefer the red. The others are red so I look forward to see if the red pops more. These are cool caps love the bowl on these suckers!
I have two pairs, two have the older projected center section. Unfortunately those are my faves but they need work.
got a set of lyon plastic inserts. locked in place by the hubcap. only put two on for a carshow but i remove them when not in use.
I don't know if anyone said this earlier (I haven't read thru the entire thread yet), but I imagine the reason they are so tall is to clear the high wheel centers that used the small hub caps with clips.....back when.
