    Hi,
I purchased two M/T breathers which did not have screws, gaskets or instructions. I assume you drill for the screws but what is required to make them functioning. I figure you must drill more holes but where and how big? Anything else I should know?

Also, were they originally krinkle black like the valve covers?
    Thanks

What I have done is put them where you want them , take a marker and trace around breather. Now draw a center line threw the outline and drill holes keeping well inside said outline. Never seen a wrinkle black one but they did come in many sizes and shapes................

Thank you. I have seen these images. But I am still uncertain where to open the covers (aside from the connecting screws).

I use 1/8" cork gasket material for the seal. You drill a bunch of 1/4" holes in the covers in the areas inside where the gasket seals to the VC. You can make a paper pattern by rubbing a pencil along the edges. Stay inside of those lines. I think they came with a paper pattern that you center punched through the paper.

I cut strips of scotchbrite from the grocery store to fill the breather pocket to act as an oil baffle. I'm not sure about M/Ts but the others used foam rubber that fell apart pretty quickly. Scotchbrite will stand up to the oil.

If yours are like the breathers pictured they won't take any type of foam, the have built in baffles and end plates............................

Whatever you do be sure to put sealer on the inside edge of the gasket. Fail to do it and oil WILL wick to the outside of the gasket and over time continue to find it's way all over the outside of the engine aided by the continual windage created by the fan and general air flow in the engine compartment.
