I need to get some machine work done on my drums... I need the '48 hubs turned down and a chevy bolt pattern drilled. I also need a spacer made for the 57 pontiac rear end to addapt the buick drums out back as well. I was also thinking about having the bolt pattern on the rears changed to chevy too. I think chevy bolt patterns are most common in 60's wheels... I'm wondering if there is anyone on the hamb thats done this before that I can pay to do it to my stuff... I only want to do it once... and prefer to have someone do it that knows what the hell they're doing!!!! There was someone on the hamb from AZ that posted pics on a thread that offered to help but I deleted the PM's when Ryan had us clean em out. I searched the posts but can't remember his handle. It would be easier if someone was in the midwest or Minnesota... but I dont mind shipping the stuff out. Let me know if anyone can help or give me some leads to a good shop. Thanks, Tuck
Are you gonna stretch the T to fit the ****** under it? Maybe the first 6 dr phaeton? I forgot to ask if Wilson Welding does that kind of work?
its for the A roadster heres a pic... do you think ill have a long driveshaft??? ha... im very curious how this is all gonna work out. I have faith it'll work.
It ain't OX's Posts... It's the idiotic replys. People just gotta add their stupidity to the perpetually growing pile. ...makes real posts dissappear.
phil... I know what you mean it amplifies the stupidity of it all. I have'nt replied to ONE of those posts nor will I... On a cool note... I just got off the phone with a hamber in Minnesota that'll help me out. So mission accomplished! I can't wait to be able to fit everything together!!! I'll take pics of it and post a follow up! Thanks guys, Tuck
I've actually seen an A with a hemi and that same ******. The driveshaft was tiny. But it all worked fine out back. Just looked a little different. Good luck! Glad someone close can help and it's a HAMBer. Just when you think *****s have taken over someone steps up!
i can turn down the 48 ford hubs so they fit into the buick drums....changing them to 4-3/4" pattern is no problem either, i have a fixture for that....the same pattern will have to be drilled in the buick drums too doing the cut on the inner lip of the buick drum to clear the ford backing plate , i can not do , i don't have a big enuff lathe. a buddy of mine does ,so i take them there...even though he is a buddy he kinda holds me up , it takes him about an hour and his shop rate is $50 an hour. the actual turning of the braking surface, any automotive machine shop can do i'm not sure what would be required on your rear end..i'd have to p*** on it right now
Greg, I sent you a couple PM's... I think ill be visiting your place and marks... and can get it all done! Thank alot!!!! Tuck
