Got a flathead I'm building, and I'm looking for a machine shop that can check and do the machine work on a crankshaft. I was under the impression that almost every automotive machine shop did cranks, but I guess that's not the case. I'm on the eastern end of Long Island , so anything in eastern suffolk would be great. Thanks Ed

A lot of good LI shops have vanished over the years. Give Lee at Lab Machine a call (he's in Copiague), if he can't do it, he'll be able to steer you to someone that can. He's been around forever.

Check with Ronnieroadster here on the HAMB, he builds flatheads here in Connecticut. Bob

Thanks, I will give Lee a call. It would be great to have a guy that builds flatheads do it, but getting over to Connectiut is expensive with ferry costs. Thank you both.

The ferry is about $65 each way, or just drive around on I-95. Definitely worth a call out to someone who knows the flattie.
