Machine Turning Question

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by C9, Oct 3, 2003.

  1. I have a machine turned stainless dash panel in my 32.
I like it, but it can be a touch bright sometimes.

The 31 has an aluminum dash panel and I was wondering what it would look like after turning.
I'd experiment with some aluminum, but part of the shop is shut down for an impending move.

Anyone have any pics to share?

Can you shoot a coat of flattened clear over the SS panel to dull it some.

Heres one I did for a cobra. It was shot with clear. The alum and stainless are both pretty bright in the sun.

  4. I'm taking it the dash is aluminum.

    Pretty nice.
A coat of clear is probably a good idea.
I like the idea of a flattened clear as well.
Nice part is the aluminum panel on the 31 is pretty small so it wouldn't be hard to make changes.

Here's a pic of the panel in question.

The last two issues of "The HORSE" magazine (chopper motorcycles) contain a series of articles on this subject. Shows how it's done. Pretty cool stuff!!

    Yep.
Just gotta decide on a house/property and finish getting the California house squared away.

I'm bringing my broken T-400 with me....
