Just wondering if anybody has had problems with Mac's antique auto parts in New York? I was getting ready to install my gears in my 39 top loader and noticed that the syncro rings were a bit worn so I thought hell, I'll call macs and they should be here asap considering I am in Michigan. I placed the order on the 17th, called today and they said they were processed on the 21st?? WTF! 3 days to process the order? Now she says as of yesterday they were still in Rochester NY. How can it take over ten days to ship something from New York to Michigan? They charged me over 10 shipping for something that cost 10 and still don't have them after ten days?

Ive used Mac's quite a few times for my 64 Merc. I live in MA and it took 3 weeks to receive my rocker panels. Other than that, never had any problems with them. Good luck man.

I ordered running boards from them for my 29. I got them right away, in fact they sent two sets! I was billed for each set! After several calls they had UPS pick up the second set. I waited for my credit refund for I think a month. I had not gotten any satisfaction from calling them, so I took the pile of paperwork to the credit union the card is with, had my money back in two days. Good Luck with your purchase!

I have been buying from Mac's for a few years now and always get my parts in about 10 to 14 days . If you want parts faster or overnight I am sure they will do that for a fee . It's only the 27 th so things do take time and the postal service isn't as good as they use to be either .
I still like Macs and will continue to deal with them .
Maybe next time find someone that will deliver overnight if you needed the parts right away !

The 17th was a saturday, they only have a few poeple on hand that day and they're closed on sundays so I can understand how it took a few days to process. As far as the items being stuck in rochester during shipping, how is that Mac's fault?

I am not saying it is Mac's entire fault but the chick that took my order should not have told me that the parts would be here on the 23rd. THAT is what I am pissed about.

Glad you posted this. I'm getting ready to put a sizable order in to Mac's. In the past I've never had a problem, a few days and the order shows up. Now it might be wise to pay for overnight or 3 day. To me there is nothing more frustrating than waiting forever for a part you need to keep progress going.

I order from Mac's often and this is the second time that this has happened. When I called today they said they sent it out USPS rather than UPS to save me on shipping but she said USPS priority mail takes alot longer? Huh? I ship priority mail all the time. Just bummed I guess as I have been wanting to finish this trans swap and everyday I come home to an empty mailbox. Should have ordered it through one of the west coast shops, it would have been here by now. fab32, I would also suggest asking them about quicker ways to ship.

I've bought most all my model a parts from macs. They do seem a bit slower then others when it comes to shipping, and there tech line guy might want to consider a different job. He never seems the least bit interested in helping with your questions/problems...

Mac's has always treated me right. Even taking parts back that I didn't need. Their deliveries have always been on time unless the part was back ordered.

  14. Why all the *****ing, You ordered something, They most likely told you it was on back order or the told you 7-10 days to receive. Now you are complaining because what, it is day 10 and it is not here yet. Once it leaves their possession, they have no control over it, if it is dropped shipped from one of their suppliers they never even touch it. Stop whining.

  15. I've ordered from them several times over the last few years and got my stuff quickly.I got a refund for a core as soon as they received it.No problems so far.

  16. 2 weeks ago I called on a Wednesday 5 PM to order some seat springs, not in stock. they said they will call and confirm availability on Thursday, Thursday the phone rang at 8:30 AM. They said one of the springs are on back order, 7-10 days delivery. I placed order with them over the phone, except I wanted to pay cash at the counter, Saturday AM, I show at the store walk to the counter pay them. Go home, Tuesday Am UPS at my door with the springs, They ordered the spring on Thursday and I didn't even pay the yet!

    Service, I cannot complain.

being that they told him that the parts would be there on a certain day, and they were not, he's got a right to be pissed.
had he just ordered them and not asked, then that would have been different

i know i get sore under the same cir***stances.

I've ordered quite a bit and mostly good experiences. I waited for months for a wiring harness --- they outsource these and they're made to order, but they didn't warn me ahead of time.

They were also able to help my out with my '53 Lincoln supprisingly enough.
    Good folks.

I can understand your frustration if she told you they would be there by a certain date. But... dude, sometimes **** happens, especially if a shipping company is involved. I don't care whether it's UPS, FedEx, or USPS. I guess I'm a little spoiled though, when I need something from them I just run a quick 8 miles down the road and pick it up in person. They are great people to deal with and a large, modern, well-organized operation. You should have no reservations about ordering anything from them.

I've ordered a few things from them. They called me saying that one part was on backorder and I told them to ship what they had. They did and I haven't had a problem with them. I did call to order a wiring harness and they said it was on backorder for a month, so I called Dennis Carpenter and had it at my house in about a week.

I have ordered a bunch of wiring harnessses for my 51' Merc. They are out sourced ftom Bauer electronics. The harnesses were beautiful!! They took a long time to receive though. I think the catelog tells you they will take awhile.

If their parts are back odered (which it seems like most of their parts are) they send you and email asking you if you still want to proceed with the order. Once, I didn't reply for a few weeks b/c I did not check my email. They then processed the order and I waited a few more weeks to receive the part.

They run pretty good coupon specials. I tried to get them to hook me up with a coupon code for a $500 wiring order and they refused and were kind of rude about it. I only asked for the hook up because I have bought a lot from them prior to that.

Overall, I wouldn't worry about ordering from them. Their wiring kicks ***, but their shipping on many items is slow.

  28. FWIW, the last parts I ordered I went to Snyders - they were a tad cheaper and no sales tax made up the difference in shipping. I'm sure it's all the same stuff otherwise.

Once it hits the UPS or USPS system they have no control over it, though. And they can do some ****ed up things routing your stuff - USPS in particular.

Over the past 15 years, i have honestly ordered thousands of dollars worth of product from Mac's, I have NEVER had an issue.
Here is a helpful suggestion to any of you that want your **** asap, when placeing your order w/the the person from Mac's you tell them you would like to pay the extra $2 (yeah, two lousy bucks) to have the order SHIPPED that day. That is right folks, for 2 extra dollars Macs will expidite YOUR order (if it is all in stock & they DO tell you if the stuff you are buying is or is NOT in stock when you place your order) process it & ship it that same day.
I do that on EVERY order I place with them, then they automatically send me an email w/a copy of my order, listed in detail all that I have ordered & get ready for this... a shipping tracking number!!!!

Let me know if I can hold your hand when you walk down the stairs or wipe the poop from your ****s after you go potty you cry babies.

holy **** what is this world coming to!

    With all due respect,
    Cheatercarl
