Well I guess with all this Irene nonsense it really turned into a 1 day event. (should been three) But my dad and I had fun on Friday. I drove my coupe down from Jersey on Wednesday so I could get some work done on his '28 Chevy rpu before we drove. I spent about 6 hours securing the brake and fuel lines to the frame rails with legitimate clamps instead of zip ties. So we made it Friday. The weather was really nice. It was fantastic because this is the first time my dad and I had our cars a show together. Great feeling. Here are some pics...

Obviously there were a lot of other really great cars there. Unfortunately we only stayed for about 4 hours. I wanted to go drag racing with some friends a Maple Grove that night. Unfortunately I failed tech. But Macungie was cool. great to see Peter and the rest of the Garage Guys. That's a really cool club.

I left a little earlier than planned to beat this over hyped storm. But I stopped outside Easton Pa to shoot these pics. All in all it was a good time.

Hey there! I'm the guy who talked to you, with the 32 Olds. After we split up I went and checked out your car. Looks like a fun ride! So I have to ask, was it the overflow bottle that made your coupe fail tech? You don't really need to answer that question. Keep me posted on your racing accomplishments. I wanna see 12's!!

Yeah it was that and my seat belts not being mounted to the frame. Although they are mounted to very solid brackets welded to my subfloor tubing. I was pretty upset about it. I saw a guy drag racing his camaro with a Dr Pepper can zip tied to the radiator for his overflow. I seriously think they just didn't like my car. A Dr Pepper can is not the required 16oz. The whole thing really made me angry. Like I got "profiled". But it was cool meeting you too. Always neat to meet someone who drag races a hot rod. As I'm finding out, it's not always fun and games.

I was planning on going on Saturday (would've been my first time @ Macungie), but Irene put a damper on that since I live in VA about 3-4 hours away.

Probably should've gone, 'cause I heard it didn't even rain until late in the day!

I'll be there next year, whether rain, hurricane, or apocalypse!

Do you know anywhere there are some picture galleries from this year?

    Thanks,
    Mike

  6. Wheels Of Time club puts on a good show. I use to go there years ago. Use to set up in the sales area or flea-market whatever. There was an engine builder that use to bring a couple of his drag engines in a large open side trailer, about two or three times a day he would fire one up-man what sound! The last show I went to about 5 years ago there must have been 500+ rods and customs there. Good food and entertainment also ;)
Too bad about the weather this past weekend though :(

We stayed over until Sunday afternoon wind & rain picked up over Quakertown way. We had to go around the long way home to Ny because of local flooding and main roads shut down.
