Ya'll talking about treadplate or diamondplate? I have heard em called both.

  3. I used 2 very long Stainless Steel restaraunt food prep tables..., they were 30 inches deep, 10 feet long, 3 inch dia. legs, and had a 12 inch splash. [IMG]

I could toss 2 SBC's on it and not worry about it handling the weight! [IMG] Great work benches! [IMG]

Found them in the dump..., they gave it to me because Stainless has no "Scrap" value! [IMG]

Set up tables and Jigs should be from I-Beams and Steel Plate. Go-Go Girl dancing cages should be able to support the weight of two girls per cage and should have all the sharp edges removed...! [IMG]

The granite that was mentioned earlier are called "Surface plates" They weigh and cost "TONS"..., and should only be used as a measuring surface, not a work bench! [IMG]

I used to work in a metrology lab and calibrate surface plates, optical comparators (OC), Coordinate measuring machines (CMM's), Laser interferometers etc..., and it was interesting when we would try to save a piece of close tolerance measuring equipment after it was used as a Work Bench...!
