Oh man, sorry to hear this.
Rest up and take care of yourself. Your health is what matters, the rest is just stuff and can be replaced.

Damn that sucks, at least the car didn't run over you while you were standing in front of it or you didn't run over someone. One of my friends got killed a few years back when he was doing something in front of some old dude's car at the parts house his family owned and the guy screwed around and put the car in gear and shoved him into the wall of the building. One of my go to parts guys for a lot of years.

Hopefully that wasn't due to a burnout that went bad with the car aimed at the shop door. Back 45 or so years ago a friend of mine in Waco had the throttle on is 56 F100 stick when he decided to do a burn out into the large shop building he worked in and hit a car on a hoist and then hit something else doing some serious damage to the F100.

  9. Get well then make a list what you need , let the HAMB brothers know your needs and get the rod and garage rebuilt and i'll start with a prayer to get you going !

@mad mikey I don't think anyone's said it yet, But "my hat's off to ya" for going to get checked out.
Many of us (including me) have that "I'll just walk it off" mentality, and won't go the the ER unless we're bleeding profusely... or near dead.
You did the right thing....and we all hope for a speedy recovery:D

  16. The first I'm hearing of this.{ So Sorry }!! :( Our old Hot Rods are lots of fun. But things can go bad very fast sometimes. Mikey, you have one of the Coolest Hot Rods on the HAMB. But please get better first! Listen to what the doctors tell you to do. You can fix the coupe later. I'm sure you will make it even better than before. If there's anything I can do, please let me know. Just don't let it get you down. We're all pull'n for ya!!! I'll be a praying for you bud. So take care, get well, and keep us posted Mikey.

Hey Robert, you wouldn't happen to know where Mad Mikey lives. We need to check on him and see if he is ok.
Any help you can give is appreciated.

Hopefully he is just sleeping in and on his way to recovery. Most people feel the worst the day after so rest and light meals are usually the best medicine. As grumpy indicated, maybe someone near him can check on him.

  24. I feel for you. been there. bring it back stronger and faster. it will all work out.

Agreed, living alone makes one ignore the voice of good reason from deep within.
I lean on two mental crutches. First is: 'I've been through worse',
Second: 'You can't win everytime' .
Victories, I've had many. Today, simple stuff is a challenge.
Do let us know if we can help. Love that coupe!

That’s horrible! I was away a few days, just reading this now. Glad you didn’t take a worse hit. I am a half hour away from you. If ‘57dude can’t get over to you, send me a message and I will gladly stop with you. Prayers for a speedy recovery. Let me know if you need help.

    Man what a mother fucker.

glad you got checked out. I’d agree have someone go make sure nothings leaking or going to spark if you don’t want to look at it.

@racer-x is the first one I thought of. Use it as an excuse to bring it back even nastier.

“I mean if I gotta replace it anyways I may as well.....”

I would suggest that you make the trip over to check up on him and not wait for him to contact you! With the head injury he may not reach out to you and that could possibly be really bad! I know that I, as well as a lot of others would like to hear that someone has actually seen him and that he is doing OK.
