I never dreamed anything I did would make into the Rodder's Journal, but 8 years after it's debut in Detroit, the Kopper Kart made the big time! The HAMB was even an important part of the story. When John Maurice decided to move to NYC, he contacted me with an offer to sell his parts that he was using to build his own Kopper Kart clone. He had been following along with the build I was doing with owner Vic Collins, and friends, that I posted here. Vic decided to buy out the entire project, and that was the impetus for us to finish the truck and made a deadline that we kept, for the Autorama in 2008. It's been in other magazines, including a great 3 issue build in Kustoms Illustrated, and being featured in TRJ is the icing on the cake. Thanks to all at Rodder's Journal, especially Curt Ise li and Jay Fitzhugh for considering it good enough for publication!
I remember seeing the truck when it debuted in Detroit. Thought it was cool then, still think it's cool now. Nothing better than a little ink for your efforts.
I only know the guys (since Denise doesn't post) here thru their posts, etc. Judging from what I have seen you contribute here, it is a well-deserved honor and accomplishment. Congratulations and thanks.
Really nice build, congratulations on the Rodder's Journal feature. I saw the truck in Westprt, Ct. about 4-5 years ago. Bob
Congrats on the feature and for the iconic truck build!! I remember it in R & C from back in the day!
