Wow-the horror stories about those transmissions are true, I guess. But that is still a really nice car.

OOOoooooooow...I feel yer pain. When I was 16 I had a 56 olds and the jetaway puked big time. I yanked the engine out and left the rest in the Juniper trees of central Oregon...came by a few years later to find somebody had shot the Olds carc*** full of holes. I sincerely hope one of the bullets hit the busted transmission. I'm still pissed at that transmission .
Bendsen's ****** adapters don't seem like such a bad idea now.

Just an FYI in case he can't get it worked out......My conversion easily bolts right into that car without modifying or cutting the floor pan......

Saw your car at the BBQ when we rolled in.... Looked good

Well I bit the bullet and went with Ross Racing th400 conversion, Goatroper is getting it ready to ship. Got back to Tulsa Last night and this morning I got up early to get my 36 Ford SD ch***is off the trailer, been on there for 3 years. Just had to air up one tire and roll it off!! Um.....the right rear brake or hub or axle was locked up! Messed with that for a few and finally got it freed up. Then it was time to check out the trailer! Well tires were good just added a little air to all 4. Lights and trailer brakes was a different story. The plug had to be replaced and one bulb was burned out. Got it all back together and went to back it up and the brakes were locked up! Couldn't quite figure that out so headed out for Austin by 11AM Going to look at the brakes again before the car is finished. Pulled great all the way here, Yay! Finally something went right!

Dang the luck man, sounds like your on the right path. Wish I would have known that you'd have to haul it back, got a friend that travels that route all the time. I just now found this, guess I was to slow. Still love that car!
